An industry low 15% buyer's premium is charged in addition to the sale price of the item and if using a credit/debit card, then a 3% fee is charged. Understand that this is a timed auction with a soft close. That means if an item receives a bid within five minutes of it closing, then another five minutes is added to the remaining time that the lot is open for bidding. We do this to allow everyone ample opportunity to make their best and final bid. You can see on your screen if you are the high bidder or if you have been outbid. Once you win an item, then you will receive an invoice to make payment.
Additional information:
If you are bidding on a laptop or desktop computer, make sure you synch your device's clock to the correct time. When not synched, it might show an item open for bidding with seconds to go when in fact, it has been closed. Or vice versa, your screen can show you as the high bidder when in reality, there are seconds left and someone can place a bid and you will not know until it is too late.
When bidding, a verification screen comes up that shows your bid price plus the buyer's premium. Please make sure you check that over so that it is correct before hitting the final button. People in the past have placed bids of $2000 when they intended a $200 bid. We want to make sure you avoid this as it can become costly.
